Stolen U.S. Identities used to Pose as IT Workers

Charges were unsealed today against an Arizona woman, a Ukrainian man, and three foreign nationals who allegedly participated in schemes to place overseas Information Technology (“IT”) workers – posing as U.S. citizens and residents – in remote positions at U.S. companies. The alleged scheme financially benefitted the defendants and individuals associated with the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (“DPRK” or North Korea). The charges describe a years’ long campaign by the North Korean government to infiltrate U.S. job markets through fraud in an effort to raise revenue for the North Korean government and its illicit nuclear program
